Lake Paran
North Bennington, VT 05257

From the North (Burlington): Take 7 South to Rt 22A in Vergennes. Go south on 22A to Rt. 22 in Granville, NY. Take Rt. 22 through to Cambridge, NY and Hoosick Falls. Look for Rt. 67 to North Bennington, VT. At the intersection-light of Rt. 67A and Rt. 67 (gas station on right), go straight onto Houghton Lane, Lake Paran is on the Right just after the Lion’s Skate Park.

From Western Vermont and Northeastern New York: US Route 7, which travels from the Canadian border to the Massachusetts border through western Vermont, meets I-89 in Burlington and US Route 4 in Rutland, Vermont. Travelers from the Lake George/Glens Falls area of New York, will want to reach US Route 22 South to Cambridge, NY. Just south of Cambridge in the town of Hoosick Falls, Route 67 will bring you into North Bennington. At the intersection-light of Rt. 67A and Rt. 67 (gas station on right),go straight onto Houghton Lane, Lake Paran is on the Right just after the Lion’s Skate Park.

From the South (Boston-Hartford) Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (West) to NY State, continue to last toll. Go through toll and take first exit, ROUTE 22 NORTH. Continue on Route 22 North approximately 40 minutes until you reach a stop sign and “T” intersection. Rt. 9. There is a Stewart’s Gas station/store on your right hand side. This will be ROUTE 7 (or may appear as ROUTE 9 on some maps). It’s also still ROUTE 22 for a short distance! TURN RIGHT going EAST. (NOTE: After a short distance, Route 22 veers off to the left, DO NOT GO THAT WAY!), Stay straight on Rt. 7. Continue on Route 7 through Hoosick Falls, New York (Antique places on both sides of road). After a bit,you will see a brand-new highway appear right in front of you, This is ROUTE 279. Go onto this highway (Rt. 7 veers off to the right). This new Gateway to VT is kinda pretty, notice the cool rock patterns on the cliffs where they blasted on the right hand side. Take the first exit which is the North Bennington exit. TURN LEFT off exit onto ROUTE 67A. You will pass a Home Depot on right. Continue straight approximately two miles into the town of North Bennington. In the center of North Bennington, you will see, on your right, a store named Power’s Market. You can’t miss it; it is white brick with large white and green round columns. Pass Power’s Market, take the 2nd Right onto Houghton St. Just after the Lions Skate Park, Turn Right onto Lake Paran Dr.

From the East: Eastern Vermont and Northern New England (ME, NH) VT Route 9, the major East/West route of Bennington, intersects I-91 in Brattleboro, VT Exit 2. Route 9 climbs and travels through the lower portion of the Green Mountains right into Bennington. At the “4 Corners in Bennington, intersection of Rt. 9 & 7, go right on to Rt. 7 North to intersection of Rt. 7 and Rt. 67A. (Staples store is on your right). At this major intersection go left onto Rt. 7A/67A. Go thru several lights, pass Walmart to the intersection of Rt. 67A & 7A. Go straight onto Rt. 67A. Take this pass Home Depot, Bennington College and right into North Bennington. Pass Power’s Market, take the 2nd Right onto Houghton St. Just after the Lions Skate Park, Turn Right onto Lake Paran Dr.

From the West: Remainder of the United States Bennington is approximately 50 minutes east of Albany, New York (the intersection of I-87 and I-90). From I-87 North (New York State Thruway – from NYC), take the exit for I-787 north and exit I-787 at Route 7 (Troy/Bennington). From I-90 East (New York State Thruway – from Buffalo), take exit for I-87 north and exit I-87 at Route 7 east. From I-87 South (The “Northway” from Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake Placid, Plattsburg) – take exit for I-87 north and exit I-87 at Route 7 east. Route 7 East becomes VT Route 9 at the New York/Vermont (Bennington) border. Continue on Route 9 through Hoosick Falls, New York (Antique places on both sides of road).
